B.Com. (Honours)
Accounting, tax and finance — with free Tally ERP and GST certification built into the degree.
Advanced accounting, taxation and finance, aimed squarely at NET, banking and academic careers.
M.Com. here is built for three specific destinations: UGC-NET and college lectureship, senior banking examinations, and professional taxation practice. The syllabus reflects that — advanced corporate reporting, tax planning, security analysis and research methodology, with a dissertation in the final semester.
The department is led by Dr. Meenakshi Bansal, a former GST consultant, and the taxation papers are taught with live compliance work rather than from a textbook alone. Students file practice returns on real formats and reconcile actual ledger data.
B.Com. or an equivalent bachelor's degree in commerce with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
Admission is granted strictly on the merit of the qualifying examination, following the reservation policy of the Government of Haryana. There is no capitation or donation charge of any kind.
Paper sequencing follows the UGC-NET commerce syllabus, with monthly mock tests in the second year.
Practice GST and income-tax returns on real formats, taught by a former practising consultant.
Portfolio theory and equity valuation with spreadsheet-based valuation exercises.
Individually supervised research using firm-level or survey data, defended at viva voce.
The structure below follows the Kurukshetra University syllabus under the NEP 2020 framework. Papers are revised by the university periodically — the department publishes the current detailed syllabus at the start of each session.
